Archimedes Development, a subsidiary of Archimedes Pharma Ltd., provides innovative drug delivery technologies, and formulation know–how using the company’s proprietary drug delivery systems PecSys® and ChiSys®. The ability of these technologies to enhance bioavailability, effectiveness and patient acceptability has been validated with the introduction of our first product PecFent in Europe and Lazanda in the US as well as in a series of partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.

In addition to our proprietary technologies, Archimedes Development offers pharmaceutical services on a contract basis with particular success and expertise in early development and the rapid progression of products into human clinical trials. Our capabilities include the provision of clinical trial supplies manufactured to GMP, tested, released and distributed worldwide from our accredited facility.

Proprietary Technologies

PecSys®

  • PecSys® is a pectin–based technology that gels on contact with certain mucosal surfaces, notably the nasal cavity. PecSys® offers the ability to optimize the absorption of and profile of certain medicines to match their pharmacokinetics to a target indication.
  • The use of PecSys® technology modulates the uptake of medicine in the body by allowing rapid absorption with a reduced ‘spike’ (Cmax) in drug concentration and is associated with the potential for reduced run off.

ChiSys®

  • ChiSys® is a bioadhesive technology that increases the absorption and bioavailability of poorly absorbed medicines, peptides, and proteins across mucosal surfaces, especially the nasal cavity.
  • ChiSys® may reduce the need for medicines to be delivered by injection and enhance the immune response to nasally–administered vaccines.
