UK Operations:
Andy Farrant, General Manager
Andy Farrant joined Archimedes Pharma in February 2011 and brings more than 20 years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a track record of building successful pharmaceutical brands and commercial teams. Farrant was previously with Basilea Pharmaceuticals, a Swiss biopharmaceutical company where as General Manager he was responsible for the set up and development of the UK country operation and the successful launch of the company’s first specialty hospital product. Prior to Basilea, Farrant was with Novartis Pharmaceuticals for 15 years having held a number of roles including Director of the UK Transplant & Immunology Business Unit, Global Brand Director for the Women’s health portfolio and varied sales management and marketing roles having started his career as a sales representative in South London. Andy earned his BSc. in Biological Sciences from the University of Exeter.
IRELAND Operations:
Peter Duffy, General Manager
Peter Duffy joined Archimedes Pharma in March 2008 with more than 20 years experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, sales and marketing. With a successful track record in a number of therapeutic areas, Duffy is leading the Irish organization into the future with continued growth of existing business and the recent launch of PecFent® (fentanyl pectin nasal spray) (SmPC) for breakthrough pain in cancer.
FRANCE Operations:
Andre Abric, General Manager
Andre Abric joined Archimedes Pharma in July 2011 and brings more than 30 years of leadership and commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Most recently, Andre was the General Manager at Basilea Pharma SAS where he opened their French offices and oversaw the launch of the company’s first specialty hospital product. Andre also served as a Board Member and Chief Operating Officer at Laboratories La Licome SA, a start–up dermatology and cosmeceuticals company. Prior to this, Andre was the General Manager at Mundipharma SAS and was with Schwarz Pharma, where he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the company. During his tenure at Schwarz, Andre oversaw the growth of the company through the acquisition and launch of multiple products in the area of cardiovascular disease. He began his pharmaceutical career with Sandoz where he held commercial roles of increasing responsibility. Andre earned his Master of Arts from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, University of Arts and Human Sciences, in Bordeaux, France.
GERMANY Operations:
Armin Rath, General Manager
Dr. Armin Rath joined Archimedes Pharma in July 2008 and has more than 12 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having held various positions in customer service, sales, marketing and pricing while at Pharmacia, Pfizer and Baxter. Most recently, Dr. Rath led the German organization through the launch of Apomorphine Injection (SmPC) for Parkinson’s disease and PecFent® (fentanyl pectin nasal spray) (SmPC) for breakthrough pain in cancer.
SPAIN Operations:
Luis Silva, General Manager
Luis Silva joined Archimedes Pharma in July 2011 and brings diverse and accomplished experience in the pharmaceutical industry and non–governmental organizations. For the past 20 years, Luis held commercial and leadership roles at Novo Nordisk Pharma S.A. Most recently, Luis served as the Managing Director/Chairman of Novo Nordisk Spain and Portgual. During his tenure at Novo Nordisk, Luis was appointed to various management teams and received numerous company awards for his accomplishments. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Luis held various positions with the Spanish Red Cross and served as a board member for the Diabetes Foundation and Farma Industria. Currently, he presides on a European Commission–funded research consortium, e–PREDICE, to determine if early pharmacological intervention during the pre–diabetes stage can prevent microvascular complications. Luis earned his Master of Science in Molecular Biology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
