In 2010, Archimedes Pharma opened its US operations located in Bedminster, New Jersey. In 2011, Archimedes Pharma received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval of Lazanda^® (fentanyl) nasal spray for the management of breakthrough pain in cancer patients ages 18 years of age and older who are already receiving and who are tolerant to opioid therapy for their underlying persistent cancer pain (View the PI). Lazanda marks the first FDA product approval for Archimedes Pharma. Lazanda is marketed as PecFent^® in Europe, where it is presently available in six countries.
